Fatem:
Somewhere in California:1971.

That is me in the photograph that graces the cover art for the release of "Fatem." I believe I was three years old but I think I was two. The photograph was taken by a young couple from the Boston area but lived near the central coast here in California where my parents were as well.

My father had just started his law enforcement career as I would later when I turned 26. My parents lived next door to the young couple in a hidden duplex. I loved it! The backyard was heaven to me. Private, green vines and shade everywhere. It was like being in a rainforest. My parents grew very close to the young couple. They were roughly all the same age.

The couple were both teachers in a nearby elementary school. I remember them both coming home and playing with me, tossing me in the air, etc. They would buy small toy cars which I still have. I told my mom to keep them safe and they are.

I remember my parents cooking with them, watching sports on television, etc. One day I started to realize that I never saw the couple again and after a very short amount of time I could see strange people moving their furniture and other items from their home. I never asked my parents about them until years later when I kept having a dream about a man and a woman who would always play with me, taking photos and giving me so many toys.

This dream bothered me on and off for more than 20 years. I thought maybe it could be a film I forgot about? When I mentioned the dreams that I was continuing to have to my parents it was at that time when my mom told me the story.

Every December the young couple would fly back to Boston for XMAS. Both of their families were from that specific area. The husband had a pilots license and every December they flew back home for the XMAS break and returned after the holidays.

After they left this last time they vanished. It was established and confirmed that their plane crashed in some very high mountain ranges in California. They never made it out of the state. The husband never filed a flight plan for their flight. He did on their previous trips but not for this one.

The couple and their plane were never found. Not one trace. After I knew the story the dreams stopped but I can still see them in my mind everyday of my life and if only for a few minutes I am two years old again and I watch this young couple smile and play with me one more time.

That's the story of "Fatem." Ten tracks that give you a peek in my mind about this young couple and most importantly how their lives and death affected me.

Their presence is still with me to this very day.
